Buyer protection

What you can count on as a buyer.

Fixed-price baseball card lots. Exact cards shown. No auctions, no breaks, no mystery mechanics. Here is exactly what protects you from the moment you claim to the moment your cards arrive.

Currently focused on MLB baseball during beta.

What protects you

Structure, not fine print.

Most buyer protection on PlayerLots is built into how the marketplace works - not bolted on after a problem.

The exact cards, photographed

Every listing shows photos of the exact cards in the lot - no stock images, no mystery packs. You evaluate what you are actually buying before you claim.

Fixed prices, no hidden fees

The listed price is the price you pay. Prices are fixed within system-defined tiers, and there are no buyer premiums or surprise charges at checkout - just the lot price plus shipping.

A claim holds your lot

When you claim a lot it is reserved for 48 hours while you complete payment - no racing an auction clock, no losing it mid-checkout.

The seller ships before getting paid

Payment is held and the seller only receives payout after delivery is confirmed. Sellers must ship within 3 business days of payment and upload valid tracking.

Tracking on higher-value lots

Higher-value lots ship in a tracked bubble mailer (BMWT) with USPS tracking; lower-value lots ship in a plain white envelope. The shipping policy explains exactly which is which.

On-platform messaging & ratings

Questions about a specific lot go through platform messaging, and conversations are recorded for safety and support. Buyers rate sellers after delivery, so reputation stays visible.

If something goes wrong

Objective problems are covered.

PlayerLots protects buyers from objective problems, not from a change of mind. If a lot arrives that is not what the listing promised, you have a path - and the platform mediates it.

  • The wrong lot was shipped
  • The lot does not match the listing
  • Cards were damaged in transit

The platform may review the dispute and request supporting information from both sides. Full rules - and what is not covered - live on the returns page and in the Terms & Conditions.

How to get help

Start with the seller through on-platform messaging - questions about a lot stay recorded there. If you cannot resolve it, open a dispute and the platform steps in.
